In her role, she is focused on setting the Centre’s strategic plans and overseeing their implementation in line with the goals and objectives of the Communicable Diseases Sector and the UAE and Abu Dhabi’s strategy.
Building on her extensive experience and knowledge in the healthcare sector H.E. Dr Farida leads the operational and planning elements of communicable diseases surveillance and monitoring including E-Notifications, Premarital Screening, Malaria Control, Vaccinations, Occupational and Environmental Healthand outbreak response and management, at ADPHC.
As the Official Spokesperson for the UAE Health Sector, H.E. Dr. Farida holds the responsibility of communicating the latest updates along with public health and safety measures to the community. Leading pandemic preparedness and vaccination initiatives, her role has supported the UAE’s accomplishments as an expert in addressing the pandemic.
H.E. Dr. Farida AlHosani is the first Emirati female to join World Health Organisation’s Pandemic Influenza Preparedness Framework Advisory Group in 2022. She is serving in her personal, expert capacity, for a period of three years. Her key goal as a member is to improve and strengthen the sharing of information about influenza viruses with human pandemic potential, and to increase the access to vaccines and other pandemic related supplies for developing countries.
As a leader in health strategic planning and public health excellence in Abu Dhabi, H.E. Dr. Farida has held numerous leadership positions over the past 12 years, enhancing her comprehensive perspective of the rapidly transforming public health industry.
H.E. Dr. Farida serves as the Head of the UAE Abu Dhabi Research Committee for COVID-19, and the Head of the Executive Team for the COVID-19 vaccine in Abu Dhabi.
She holds a master’s degree and PhD from the John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, USA and a master’s degree in Security and Strategic Studies from the UAE National Defense College.
