Lulwah Al Homoud is a highly accomplished artist, freelance Curator and
Visual Communication Expert with extensive international experience of
advising high profile individuals, companies, organisations, museums and
galleries on the development of exhibitions and concepts. Collaborations
include the British Museum, Duolun Museum in China, ArtCurial auction house
in Paris, Aramco, Saudi Arabia and The October Gallery, London
An internationally recognised Expert in Islamic and contemporary Art, from
sacred ancient works to cutting edge contemporary artists.
She was the first Saudi to acclaim MA from Central Saint Martins College of Art
and Design, London.
She worked in London with British designers in the creative direction field and
much of her work was for Saudi Arabian national projects, including the identity
of The Saudi Arabian pavilion and designer of 118 murals inside The Saudi
Pavilion, World Expo, Shanghai 2010 and the anti-terrorism campaign.
She collaborated with The British Museum 2007 to introduce Arabic/Islamic art
and design to British GCSE students for six weeks.Al Homoud also worked as Curator of international exhibitions beginning from
London since 1999, including Master Stokes, London 2003 at The October
Gallery and the first Saudi Arabian art exhibition 2008, London Brunei Gallery,
SOAS, University of London and Nabatt: a sense of being, Duolun Museum,
Shanghai 2010 and Beirut 2010.
More recently, Lulwah has worked with galleries in Saudi Arabia and the UAE,
promoting Saudi art within an international context and introducing British artists
to the region. Her most recent exhibition was ‘Contrasts in Harmony,’ which she
curated and developed featuring 23 international artists from around the world
during MISK art week 2019. She also collaborated with MISK and Misistry of
Culture to curate Saudi art exhibition at UNESCO headquarter, Paris, France
2019.
Her achievements as an artist includes exhibiting around the world in prominent
art exhibitions and museums, her work is acquired by many museums and
institutions around the world, among them, The British Muesum, LACMA (Los
Angeles County Museum), USA. Jeju Museum, Korea, Five Continents Museum,
Munich, Germany and recently The British Museum. Her work was 4 times in
Sotheby’s, Christies, Bonham’s auctions and all pieces were sold.Today, she is the founder and general manager of LAH Art Foundation for
cultural exchange and supporting local artists in Saudi Arabia. She is also the
founder of ISDAR, a fine art printing facility for education and production.
She is also a member of the board of trustees of the Academic Saudi Art and
Design Society.
She is active in many talks and workshops to increase awareness about the
importance of art and creativity to bridge cultures.
