As Managing Director, Mark is dedicated to Interact’s vision of embedding healthy activity into communities and his background in Physical and Health Education is evidence of his passion for a healthy next generation. Formerly the Ministry of Education National Training Lead for Physical and Health Education, Mark is also a qualified teacher with 12 years of experience in schools and teacher training. He holds an MSc in Exercise Science and is a published academic author on physical literacy.
Mark has worked on nationwide physical activity initiatives and was responsible for the 2019 ‘Stay Home Sports Day’ to drive physical activity amongst UAE families during Covid. This initiative was recognized nationally as the most influential program of its kind, garnering over 42,000 UAE families to get active in their home with innovative workshops led by local role models.
In 2010, Mark received the Adidas Dissertation Award for his research on exercise psychology while completing his master’s degree in London. He also holds a BA from the University of Warwick and a PGCE in PE teaching from Brunel University.
