Soha El-Turky serves as the Deputy CEO and executive board member at the National Bank of Egypt - the largest bank operating in the Egyptian market - where she oversees Banking and Treasury. Ms. El-Turky is a seasoned C-suite executive with 30 years of experience in regional and global organizations operating across diverse geographies. Her extensive career has equipped her with a wide-ranging skill-set and cross-functional expertise in private and public sectors, underpinned by a strong business acumen that drives strategic initiatives and fosters organizational change and transformation. Prior to her current role, she held the position of Vice President / Chief Financial Officer at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), a prominent AAA-rated multilateral development bank focused on the private sector, headquartered in the UK. Notably, she was the first Vice President in the bank’s history to be appointed from the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean region. Earlier in her career, Ms. El-Turky spent substantial time at Citi and Barclays, as well as other leading local and regional banks based in Egypt and the UK. Her previous roles include Corporate Banking CFO at Barclays UK and CFO at Banque Du Caire in Egypt. Additionally, she has contributed as an executive board member at Barclays Egypt and as an independent, non-executive board member at Emaar Misr. She currently hold a number of other non-executive director positions. A balanced and forward-thinking leader, Ms. El-Turky is driven by an unwavering commitment to success.
