Afra Al Suwaidi is an Abu Dhabi artist whose sculptural and mixed media practice explores identity, memory, and emotional transformation. Working with everyday and often nostalgic materials, she reveals the tension between innocence and trauma—using layering, deconstruction, and material manipulation to surface hidden narratives.
In 2024, Afra Al Suwaidi was selected as one of the lead artists in Abu Dhabi Art’s Art + Tech programme. She participated in Abu Dhabi Art’s Beyond: Emerging Artists program in London. Locally, Al Suwaidi has showcased her work at the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi’s Do Art Do It Now (2017), the Cultural Foundation Art Residency (2020), and various exhibitions within Dubai and Abu Dhabi Galleries, such us Aisha Alabbar Art Gallery, Artbooth Gallery, Baró O-Contemporary Gallery.
