Dr. Anwar Baban

Dr. Anwar Baban is a Consultant in Clinical Genetics and Genomics and currently serves as the Head of the Department of Clinical Molecular Genetics and Precision Medicine at Mediclinic MCME Hospitals in Dubai, UAE (from May 2025 to present).
Prior to this role, she was a Permanent Consultant in Clinical Genetics and Genomics, and the Founder and Lead of the Cardiogenetic Center at the Bambino Gesù Children Hospital and Research Institute in Rome, Italy.
Her major field of interest is the clinical multidisciplinary management of patients with rare diseases for the identification, potential prevention, or slowing down of clinical manifestations of these conditions.
She is a coauthor for more than 100 pubmed indexed journals with 30 h-index value and an author for several chapters within referenced textbooks.
She is actively involved at an international level, currently serving as the Vice-Chair of the Working Group on Genetics, Basic Science and Myocardial Disease for the Association for European Paediatric and Congenital Cardiology (AEPC) and Board Member of the European Union rare disease project GUARD-HEART ERN. She is the Principal Investigator (PI) and researcher for multiple EU funded projects
Dr Anwar main aim is to reduce the burden of patients and families with rare diseases through offering best option and up to date management.
