Basma Alzamil is a family business advisor and governance expert specializing in multigenerational family enterprises navigating leadership transitions, succession, ownership, and governance while preserving family unity and long-term sustainability.
She currently serves as a Family Business Advisor at Lansberg Gersick Advisors (LGA) and an Advisor to the Family Business Center at Al Yamamah University, working with prominent families across the Middle East.
Her expertise is grounded in more than a decade of senior leadership experience with the Zamil Group, where she held executive roles in Human Resources, CSR, and Family Office. She led organizational transformation initiatives and contributed to succession planning, family governance, human capital development, and next-generation leadership.
Basma is an active contributor to the regional business community. She serves on the Board of Trustees of the Royal University for Women in Bahrain, is Vice President of the Businesswomen Council at the Asharqia Chamber and is a member of the Women Council at the National Center for Family Businesses in Saudi Arabia. She is also a frequent speaker at regional forums on family enterprise, leadership, governance, and women’s empowerment.
Basma holds a Ph.D. in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from Nova Southeastern University and is a Certified Family Business Advisor by the Family Firm Institute (FFI) and a Certified Governance Specialist.
