Dr. Mate Ivančić

Since August 2019, Dr Mate has served as Chief Executive Officer of Schön Klinik SE, one of Germany’s top five private hospital groups with a leading position in mental health and a strong footprint in somatic medicine, operating 16 hospitals and 12 outpatient centres in Germany and the UK with around €1bn annual revenue and 12,000 employees. Prior to this, he was Managing Director New Business Areas at Helios Group (09/2018–07/2019), where he developed new segments such as occupational medicine, prevention, and telemedicine/virtual clinic and built international cross-selling opportunities within Helios and Fresenius. From 2010 to 2018, he held successive general management roles at Helios, including Regional Managing Director (Central Region) and Managing Director of Helios Hospital Berlin-Buch, driving multi-year budget overperformance and significant profitability improvements, after earlier leadership positions at Trinity Hospital Cologne combining medical responsibility with finance/controlling, complemented by project work in hospital management in Basel and clinical training at University Hospital Basel across traumatology, general surgery, and emergency medicine.
