Dr. Mazen Zouwayhed

With certifications from the American Board in Pulmonary Diseases, Critical Care diseases, and Internal Medicine, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mazen Zouwayhed is a Pulmonary Critical Care and sleep Medicine consultant and one of American Hospital Dubai's most prolific physicians. Asst. Prof. Dr. Zouwayheds educational journey into the medical landscape started in the early 90s when he joined the University of Damascus. School of Medicine and graduated 6 years later with a certificate of honor from the university of Damascus in 1999. He moved to the United States of America post graduation, first to undertake his Internal Medicine Residency in Cleveland, Ohio and later to excel in his Pulmonary / Critical Care Fellowship in the University of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma USA. During his time in the USA, Asst. Prof. Dr. Zouwayhed also served as an internal medicine consultant and a Medical Director of the Hospitalist Program at the Trover Foundation Regional Medical Center in Madisonville, Kentucky, USA. Following his exit, he moved to Oklahoma where he finished a fellowship in Pulmonary Critical care before working as a Pulmonary Critical care consultant at Mercy Hospital and Edmond Hospital in Oklahoma City Oklahoma. Beside clinical work Asst. Prof. Dr. Zouwayhed Has collaporated with multiple medical journals and societies. He had served as a chief resident at his Residency program in Ohio and as a chief fellow at the fellowship program at the University of Oklahoma in Okhahoma Cit beside serving as a Medical director of the internal Hospitalist group at Trover foundation Regional Medical center. Asst. Prof. Dr. Zouwayhed is trained to treat all kinds of pulmonary diseases including Asthma, COPD, chronic bronchitis, interstitial lung diseases, pulmonary fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, cavitary lung lesions, Lung infections, lung nodules and lung cancer. He has special interests in doing Bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound ( EBUS) tracheostomy, indwelling pleural and peritoneal catheters and placement of endobronchial and tracheal stents. He is also trained to treat all aspects of sleep disorders including insomnia, Obstructive sleep apnea and all other types of sleep disorders.
