Dr. Raajiv Singhal

Founding Member, Managing Director and Group CEO, Marengo Asia Hospitals

Dr. Raajiv Singhal is a distinguished healthcare professional and visionary leader with extensive experience spanning clinical practice, hospital operations, private equity, and entrepreneurship. A graduate and postgraduate (MS, General Surgery) of the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) Pune, he began his career as a General Surgeon in the Indian Army and served there for 14 years in some of the most challenging terrains including the Siachen and jungles of Northeast India. These formative years, where he often walked miles through harsh terrain to deliver life-saving care to soldiers, instilled in him a lifelong commitment to “Patient First” healthcare.

Through his career, Dr. Raajiv has worked extensively across Asia and Africa — from Egypt to South Africa, Ethiopia to Tanzania, and across India’s diverse healthcare landscape. He has led multi-country hospital networks, developed telemedicine and e-ICU models, and spearheaded capacity-building initiatives in complex operational contexts.

As Founding Member, Managing Director & Group CEO of Marengo Asia Hospitals, he has transformed a vision into one of India’s most dynamic healthcare networks, with 1,800+ beds across five multi-specialty hospitals. Under his leadership, Marengo Asia Hospitals continues to champion accessibility, affordability, and clinical excellence through Centres of Excellence and the innovative “Clinical Corridors” model (Teach, Train, Treat) for capacity building across Asia and Africa.

Previously, as Group CEO at the Evercare platform, he oversaw 2,200+ beds across 12 hospitals, led due diligence and asset localization in multiple African markets, and helped raise over $1B in capital for healthcare expansion. Earlier, as Regional Director of Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, he pioneered India’s first e-ICU and Hub-and-Spoke Heart Command Centres across India and internationally, earning multiple awards including the Government of Karnataka’s “Innovation in Healthcare Award.”

Dr. Raajiv served on several company boards for Dhaka and South Africa, and co-chairs key industry committees at FICCI, CII, and NatHealth. His work continues to bridge geographies and systems, redefining patient-centric care and healthcare delivery models across emerging markets.
