Dr. Ramadan AlBlooshi has recently joined the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) as a Senior Advisor to the Director General. He will be working closely to deliver DHA’s projects both locally and internationally. Before joining back in DHA, Dr. AlBlooshi was the Chief Regulatory Officer (CRO), of Dubai Healthcare City Authority from 2014 to 2021. He heads the Dubai Healthcare City Authority– Regulatory (DHCR), the independent regulator of the Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) free zone. In his earlier role, Dr. AlBlooshi was the Director of the Health Regulation Department at Dubai Health Authority where he played an active part in establishing clinical governance in the emirate. He was also tasked with leading medical tourism strategy and setting up policies in healthcare practice in both government and private sectors. His governance journey was preceded by clinical roles- three years as an internist with the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention, and two years as a gastroenterologist at Rashid Hospital. In his career, he has demonstrated expertise in areas including registration and regulation of facilities and professionals; inspection of healthcare facilities; customer care; policies and standards; complaints management; health informatics; and medical tourism.
