Dr. Wafaa is deeply involved in medical education. She is an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Sharjah College of Medicine and an Assistant Professor at both Beirut Arab University Faculty of Medicine and the Lebanese University Faculty of Health Sciences. She also serves as a DHA examiner, assessing physicians seeking licensure to practice in the UAE.
A frequent speaker at local and regional pediatric conferences, Dr. Wafaa is a member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, the Lebanese Order of Physicians, and the Lebanese Pediatric Society.
