Ahmed El Shamy

Ahmed El Shamy is the CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Properties, a position he has held since January 2023, following his tenure as the Chief Financial Officer. He leads a diverse portfolio across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), with a strong focus on developing vibrant communities and iconic shopping malls. Notable projects under his leadership include Mall of the Emirates, City Centres, Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates, Tilal Al Ghaf, Ghaf Woods and Al Mouj Muscat.
His leadership is grounded in Majid Al Futtaim’s commitment to creating exceptional destinations that foster connection, innovation, and well-being. Under his direction, the Development business delivers integrated mixed-use communities that blend residential, commercial, and leisure components to meet the evolving needs of modern lifestyles. Meanwhile, the Asset Management business enhances the performance and quality of the company’s shopping malls and hotels, consistently delivering outstanding experiences for tenants, guests, and partners. These efforts reflect El Shamy’s focus on long-term growth and operational excellence across the region, while maintaining Majid Al Futtaim Properties’ leading position in the real estate industry.
Before joining Majid Al Futtaim, El Shamy held significant leadership roles at Qalaa Holdings, Procter & Gamble, Al Ahram Beverages, and Orascom Development. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Helwan University, Cairo.
