H.E. Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri

As of June 2025, H.E. Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri serves as the Minister of Economy and Tourism for the United Arab Emirates (UAE). He was first appointed Minister of Economy in July 2020. H.E. Al Marri also chairs the General Civil Aviation Authority and the Board of Trustees of the National CSR Fund (MAJRA). Before becoming Minister, he held senior government roles. As Secretary General of the UAE Cabinet from 2017, he played a key role in strengthening coordination between federal and local governments. He also led public engagement initiatives and helped build strategic partnerships with global institutions such as the World Economic Forum. He previously headed the Securities and Commodities Authority and served as Director General of the Executive Office of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He was part of the core team behind Area 2071, the platform for future-focused initiatives under the UAE Centennial Plan 2071. He also contributed to the launch of the Hatta Economic Zone and the relaunch of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Center for Leadership Development. As former CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation, he played a leading role in initiatives like Dubai 10X, which aims to position the city as a global innovation hub. Mr. Al Marri currently sits on the boards of several federal entities where he has supported national priority sectors, such as the Golden Visa program designed to attract global talent. Mr. Al Marri holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Sheffield (UK) and is a graduate of both the UAE Government Leaders Program and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Center for Leadership Development.
