H.E. Juma Mohammed Al Kait

His Excellency Juma Mohammed Al Kait serves as Acting Undersecretary at the Minister of Economy and Tourism, bringing over two decades of leadership experience in advancing the UAE’s global trade, investment and economic agenda. His Excellency currently oversees the Ministry’s efforts in shaping and advancing its strategic economic legislations, policies and initiatives. Previously, H.E. served as Assistant Undersecretary for International Trade Affairs at the Minister of Economy and Tourism and the UAE’s Chief Trade Negotiator, where he helped shape the nation’s trade and investment strategies during a period of UAE’s rapid economic expansion and built international engagement. Throughout his career, His Excellency has led trade negotiations, navigated trade disputes, and enhanced the effective implementation and enforcement of trade-related laws. He has been instrumental in aligning government, industry, and non-governmental stakeholders around a cohesive and forward-looking trade policy. A central figure in nearly every major trade initiative over the past two decades, he has played a key role in securing Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements with more than 30 international trading partners, strengthening the UAE’s position as a key player in global trade. H.E. Al Kait also spearheaded the UAE’s participation in trade and economic committees within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), leading efforts to deepen regional economic integration and align trade policies and regulations. His work has contributed to enhancing intra-GCC trade flows, ensuring competitiveness of customs procedures, and fostering greater coordination on GCC trade negotiations, reinforcing the region’s collective economic growth and prosperity. His Excellency was awarded the Prime Minister's Medal for Best Assistant Undersecretary as part of the Mohammed bin Rashid Government Excellence Award in 2024. He is a graduate of the UAE Government Leaders Program (Executive Leadership Category, 2010-2011). H.E. holds a Bachelor’s degree in business information system from the Higer Colleges of Technology and an International Master of Business Administration from Buckinghamshire New University (UK).
