James Matthews is a British artist and art educator based in the UAE since 2007. Working primarily with experimental printmaking techniques, his practice translates everyday landscapes into layered visual forms—capturing the pulse of the environment through sustainable, hands-on methods like woodcut, printing on handmade palm tree paper, and collage.
He holds a Master of Fine Art from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and has exhibited internationally locally, recently at Artbooth Gallery Abu Dhabi. His works held in public and private collections, including the Bassam Freiha Art Foundation.
