Nameer Khan

Chairman, MENA Fintech Association (UAE)

Nameer Khan is a globally recognized fintech and sustainability executive, Chairman of the MENA Fintech Association (MFTA), ranked among the world’s top four fintech bodies, and Founder & CEO of Fils, a climate fintech infrastructure platform enabling institutions to embed sustainability directly into financial transactions. He is one of the leading voices shaping financial innovation, regulatory policy, and climate-aligned finance across the Middle East and North Africa.
Under his leadership, MFTA has grown into a network connecting regulators, central banks, and fintech operators across 22 markets, a scale and reach he built from the ground up. The region didn’t have a fintech ecosystem. Nameer built one, establishing the policy frameworks, institutional relationships, and market infrastructure that now define how fintech and sustainable finance operate across MENA.
Nameer holds an Honorary Professorship at Heriot-Watt University’s Edinburgh Business School, a distinction held by a small number of global leaders across academia and industry, where he also serves on the Advisory Board, shaping its strategic direction on fintech and sustainability. He is a board member and trusted advisor to leading fintech companies, an active early-stage investor, and a frequent speaker at global fintech, banking, and sustainability forums.
