Dr. Peiman Kianmehr is Professor and Chair of the Civil Engineering Department at the American University in Dubai. He brings extensive expertise in sustainable built environments, with a particular focus on climate-resilient infrastructure, green building design and assessment, and resource-efficient municipal systems. Dr. Kianmehr has authored more than 55 publications, including books and journal articles, and has supervised over a dozen graduate students at AUD who have contributed significantly to advancing the UAE’s construction industry. From 1999 to 2004, Dr. Kianmehr led major design, planning, and quality-control projects in hydraulic engineering, including water transmission and supply networks, earth dam construction, and flood-control initiatives. Before joining AUD, he collaborated with Environment Canada on sustainable water and wastewater treatment projects.
