Prof Dr. Sherif Fahmy

Dr. Sherif Fahmy is a distinguished academic leader, entrepreneur, and innovator with over three decades of impact across healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and higher education. He serves as Professor of Pharmacy and Dean for Scientific Affairs at the University of Nottingham, a role he has held since 2010, where he has driven academic excellence, research leadership, and global partnerships. As an entrepreneur, Dr. Fahmy co-founded Biocity Limited, the United Kingdom’s largest science incubator valued at $37M, and launched AI Pharma Ltd in 2020, now valued at $23M, where he continues to advance the application of artificial intelligence in the pharmaceutical sector. He also serves as Chief Research & Development Innovation Officer at Pfizer, overseeing a $110M portfolio dedicated to novel therapies and breakthrough medicines. Since 2021, he has served as President of the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI), championing the UK’s global leadership in pharmaceutical innovation and the development of next-generation vaccines and treatments.
