Prof. Naiem Moiemen Chair of Medical and Scientific Research Council at Ahl Masr Burn Hospital Honorary Professor at the University of Birmingham With more than 40 years of extensive experience in burn care and a distinguished track record in advancing cutting-edge scientific research, Prof. Naiem Moiemen is an internationally renowned expert in the management of all types of burn injuries. Beside his position as the Chair of Medical and Scientific Research Council at Ahl Masr Burn Hospital, he also serves as a Consultant Plastic and Burns Surgeon at University Hospitals Birmingham and as an Honorary Professor at the University of Birmingham. One of the key pillars of Prof. Moiemen’s success throughout his distinguished career has been his unwavering commitment and passion to advancing burn care by combining the highest standards of patient care with cutting-edge scientific research and its practical application. Prof. Moiemen has published more than 150 peer-reviewed manuscripts in leading medical journals, in addition to contributing chapters to specialized books. He has also worked as Chief Investigator on research grants exceeding £15 million, further reflecting his significant contribution to advancing innovation and knowledge in the field of burn care. Among the most prominent positions Prof. Moiemen has held in recent years is his role as Editor in-Chief of the European Burn Journal, a position he has held for the past five years and continues to hold to date. He also worked as President of the International Society for Burn Injuries (ISBI) from December 2018 to June 2021, and as Chairman of the British Burn Association from April 2009 to April 2011.
