Associate Professor Dr. Walid Shaker has over 28 years of experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery. He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 1993, followed by Master degree MSc in 1997 and his Doctorate MD PhD in Cardiothoracic Surgery in 2003. He is an Associate Professor and consultant of Cardiothoracic Surgery in Ain Shams University Hospitals, one of the cardiac surgery centres of excellence in the Middle East. He completed his surgical training in Pierre et Marie Curie University, Saint Joseph and George Pompidou European Hospital in Paris and Claude Bernard University in Lyon, Cardiac Center Louis Pradel. He also completed fellowships in Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery in France. He has worked in many prestigious government and private hospitals in the UAE for the last 15 years, performing a large number of open heart surgeries.
