Salma Dannawi Oueida is Associate Vice President for Development, Alumni Relations,
and University Events at the American University of Beirut (AUB). A proud alumna with an
Executive MBA and a degree in Electrical and Communication Engineering, she is a
recognized leader in philanthropy, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and
sustainability-driven advancement. She co-led AUB’s landmark BOLDLY AUB fundraising
campaign (2017–2024), which raised over $805 million to support education, healthcare,
research, and social impact initiatives. With more than two decades of experience, Oueida
is known for forging transformative partnerships with high-net-worth individuals,
corporations, foundations, and volunteer groups—mobilizing resources that strengthen
institutional resilience, sustainability, and regional competitiveness.
Her leadership has earned her numerous accolades, including the CASE Asia-Pacific
Distinguished Service Award (2024) and the Playbook Awards “Leadership Excellence
Award” (2024), recognizing her contributions to sustainable philanthropy and
purpose-driven partnerships. Beyond AUB, Oueida advises institutions across the Gulf
and MENA region, serves on the boards of NGOs focused on education, economic
resilience, and women’s leadership, and is a founding member of Playbook, a global
platform for women in leadership. She also serves as Ambassador for Philanthropy and
CSR at the Women Board of Directors (WBD) and is a member of the Dubai Business
Woman Council (WBWC).
