Sawsan Albahiti, known to be the first Saudi opera singer and vocal coach, has trained as a soprano since 2008 with various opera singers and conductors around the world driven by her passion to learn this art form and perfect it. She also became certified as a voice teacher from the New York Vocal Coaching Studio and then opened her own vocal coaching studio, The Soulful Voice, in 2018, making it the first official center in the Kingdom specialized in voice training. Albahiti set a record for another first when she performed her debut in 2019, opening for La Scala di Milano for their concert in Riyadh where she sang the Saudi national anthem in an operatic rendition making her the first Saudi woman to perform her country’s anthem publicly. Since then, she has been developing her operatic talent with experts from around the world, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, Queen's Chapel in Belgium and Strasbourg opera house, and performing heavily in the Kingdom and abroad. She is currently working with the Music Commission in the Ministry of Culture participating in establishing the music industry in Saudi Arabia.
