Ties van Der Hoeven is a Hydraulic Engineer, trained at TU Delft, and a passionate entrepreneur with a strong drive to bring people together and a global perspective. His diverse work experience spans across Europe (including Russia), Africa, Asia, and Australia. Ties focuses on innovating projects in sustainability, visualization, serious gaming (including virtual reality and 3D), communication, and engineering. Throughout his career, Ties has demonstrated his expertise as a Project Engineer, Project Manager, Business Developer, and Negotiator on large infrastructure projects. He has worked as a consultant with Royal Haskoning and as a contractor at DEME, where he has proven his skills in designing hydraulic structures and preparing contracts. His extensive travel and work experiences have provided him with unique insights into the world, deepening his understanding of the global challenges we face. After contributing to several major construction projects, Ties's interests evolved towards working in harmony with nature. This shift sparked his creativity and led him to adopt a proactive, adaptive engineering approach. By embracing simplistic modeling and monitoring, he has learned to navigate complex natural systems, making collaboration with nature a process of understanding and fostering positive feedback loops.
