Adel Abubakar is Chief Marketing Officer of Emirates Global Aluminium, responsible for the marketing and sales of EGA’s metal worldwide and for EGA’s Casthouses. He is also a Board Director of EGA America Inc. From 2012 to 2021, Mr. Abubakar served as Managing Director and CEO of EGA America Inc. Mr. Abubakar joined Dubai Aluminium in 2006 as Manager of Business Development for new aluminium smelter projects, after more than a decade working in finance. In 2009, he was promoted to Senior Manager, Marketing & Sales, overseeing marketing and sales across Europe and the Americas. Mr. Abubakar played an instrumental role in the merger of DUBAL and Emirates Aluminium in 2014 to form Emirates Global Aluminium. Mr. Abubakar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the American University in Dubai (AUD).
Mr. Agnello Borim is currently the Chief Operating Officer at Sohar Aluminium Company, a 395,000 tonnes per annum Aluminium Smelter, Power Plant and Port situated in Sohar, the industrial hub of the Sultanate of Oman. Agnello has more than 30 years of experience working in large global companies in the metallurgical and mining sector while holding leadership positions including Vice President and Director in complex industrial facilities that included some of the largest producers of primary Aluminium in the world. These include Alcoa, Ma’aden, BHP Billiton, Murabeni, Chinalco and Rio Tinto. At Sohar Aluminium, Agnello is the custodian of the Productivity and Incremental Improvements Business focus area overseeing the development of their strategies and contributing to driving the overall strategy of the Company. Agnello has an MBA from IBMEC Business School for Executive Education in Sao Paulo, and a bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Metallurgy and Mines in Minas Gerais state in Brazil.
Ali Al Baqali CEO - Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba) Appointed as the CEO on 13 February 2020, Al Baqali has been part of the Alba family for more than 2-decades and brings years of thought leadership and honed experience from within the Company. Al Baqali joined Alba as a Purchasing Officer in 1998 then moved further up the ranks to become Manager for Procurement (2010), Chief Financial Officer (2013), Deputy CEO and Chief Supply Chain Officer (2017) and Acting CEO (2019). In his Executive Management roles, Al Baqali has been instrumental in Alba’s landmark Line 6 Expansion Project, especially in securing the US$3 billion financing for the Project and formulating the sourcing strategies for key raw materials. As a Bahraini who grew from within Alba, Al Baqali believes that Alba’s growth and success depend heavily on the Company’s entrenched principles on Safety, Development of Human Capital, Social and Civic Responsibility as well as Community Development. Al Baqali places Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) matters at the top his priorities; his beliefs have translated into Alba establishing c.US$40 million first-of-its-kind Spent Pot Lining Treatment Plant Project, achieving the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) Performance Certification, setting-up a Fish Farm at the Calciner & Marine Operations amongst many other initiatives. Al Baqali was recognised as one of the top business leaders in the Forbes Top CEOs in the Middle East 2021, and his leadership skills has placed Alba as one of the top Bahraini companies in the Forbes Top 100 Companies in the Middle East 2021.
Mr. Ali A.Mohsen Executive Manager , looking after the production planning & control, product quality/ customer requirements, product development, Business Improvement and Management systems. Ali A.Mohsen joined GARMCO back in June 1997 as a Material Tester in laboratory then he was promoted to Quality Control Engineer in 2004 looking after the quality of the product. In year 2012 he was transferred to production department as Cold Rolling Manager. In 2016 he was appointed as Senior Project Manager of the New Remelt Expansion Project, he was looking after the Project from all the aspects, and he was representing the company in front the main EPC contractor. Ali A.Mohsen holds a Masters’ Degree in Business Administration from French Arabian Business School (ESSEC) and BSc degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Bahrain.
Ramia is a Senior Producer and Presenter at Forbes Middle East, as well as a Moderator with a long history of hosting a variety of public and private sector events. Ramia has interviewed several world leaders including General Pervez Musharraf, President of Pakistan, Mohammed Khatami, President of Iran, Gerhard Schroeder, Chancellor of Germany and Jimmy Carter, US President. She is a moderator at major events including the World Government Summit in Dubai, the Middle East Investment Forum, and the Forbes 30/50 Summit, to name a few. Ramia holds a MA in Global Diplomacy-International Relations from the University of London, SOAS, as well as a BA in Communications from the University of Winnipeg and an associate degree in Journalism from Red River College.
