Dr Ram is a Cardiothoracic Surgeon who did his training in Cardiac Surgery at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, UK & Toronto General Hospital, University of Toronto, Canada.
He did his Management Training at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad & Singapore Management University. He has also been associated with the Indian Institute of Healthcare Management & Research University, Jaipur, India as Vice Chairman of The Academic Advisory Council & Visiting Faculty Member.
After a stint of almost 8 years abroad, he returned to India in 1999 as the CEO & Medical Director of a 110 bed Heart Institute in Western India. Subsequently he joined the Reliance Group in September 2006 to lead the team in setting up the 875 bed, quaternary care, Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai. He was the Executive Director for more than 14 years, being involved in design, planning, project management, commissioning, operations, clinical governance & strategic planning.
He was the Chief Operating Officer at the Emirates Hospitals Group, Dubai, from July 2019 till June 2023. This entailed managing 2 Hospitals, 2 Day Surgery Centres, 12 Medical Centres, 2 Rehab Centres and 5 Pharmacies across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and RAK.
He has been with PureHealth as the Chief Medical Officer at The Medical Office since July 2023.
