Dr. Steven Griffiths, Senior Vice President for Research and Development and Professor of Practice at Khalifa University of Science and Technology, has shaped the university’s research strategy, overseeing institutes and departments focused on sustainable innovations. As a member of the Emirates Research and Development Council, he contributes to regional sustainable practices. Advising the UAE Research Program for Rain Enhancement Science, he pioneers innovative solutions for water scarcity. Dr. Steven supports positive environmental and social impact through the Zayed Sustainability Prize Selection Committee and is integral to the Dubai Future Council on Energy and the AI Expert Group Subcommittee of the UAE Council for AI & Blockchain, championing technology for sustainability.
Prior to his role at Khalifa University, Dr. Steven excelled as Vice President for Research and Associate Provost at the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology. With a PhD in Chemical Engineering from MIT and an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management, his credentials underscore his comprehensive understanding of sustainable practices.
