Dr. Shamsa Abdul Manan Al-Awar is an internationally recognized Emirati leader in Obstetrics and Gynecology, serving as Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of OB/GYN at the United Arab Emirates University. Board-certified in both North America and Canada (ABOG, FRCSC), she is a distinguished clinician, academic, researcher, and healthcare strategist with over two decades of impact in women’s health, medical education, and healthcare policy.
A pioneer in advancing women’s healthcare in the UAE, Dr. Al-Awar has led national initiatives in maternal health, cervical cancer prevention, medical education, and healthcare quality. She has authored numerous high-impact scientific publications, established innovative research and educational programs, and served on multiple national and regional medical and policy committees. Her exceptional contributions to medicine, leadership, and community service have earned her prestigious honors, including the Emirati Doctor Award, the UAEU Chancellor’s Medal, and the Arab Women Award in Medicine.
