Basel Elbagory, 18-years-old professional Arabic calligrapher and a Mechanical Engineering student as well. Since I was 10, I was fascinated with the Arabic calligraphy art, I thought it was all about innate ability, then. Fortunately, five years later, I joined the Royal Arabic Calligraphy school to get my diploma in professional Arabic calligraphy art. I began to explore the secrets of that field which pushed me to learn how to digitalize my art pieces. Then, I began to show up in events and campaigns to draw names as a part of the advertising program for companies such as MUNs, Mall of Egypt , Vodafone and Elgouna. My pen granted my soul the liberty to relief, express and protest. I am passionate about experimenting new calligraphic and typographic techniques and giving workshops all under the umbrella of uncovering the beauty of the Arabic identity and catching people’s eyes to promote this elegant art. As time passes, I learn more about the field and how to turn an empty piece of paper or wall into a masterpiece that attracts eyes. I believe that art flourishing indicates the glory of a nation. I am looking forward to making use of my studies to establish a startup that offers modern home accessories and decorations using Arabic calligraphy, in future.
