Dr. Rana Abou Mrad, MD, MSc, is a Consultant Nephrologist and Head of the Nephrology Department at Mediclinic Airport Road Hospital in Abu Dhabi, where she also served as Director of Medical Education. She combines her clinical expertise with a strong background in health economics, policy, and management, holding an MSc from the London School of Economics and completing advanced training at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Abou Mrad has played a leading role in aligning nephrology services across the platform of Mediclinic Middle East, while advancing patient safety as Chair of the Clinical Quality and Patient Safety as well as the Sentinel & Adverse Events Committees. As an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at Mohammed Bin Rashid University, she is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of physicians and bridging the gap between academia and healthcare delivery. Fluent in Arabic, English, and French, Dr. Abou Mrad is recognized as a physician-leader who integrates clinical practice, academic scholarship, and executive strategy to drive transformation in healthcare systems.
