Dr. Rahaf Ajaj

Dr. Rahaf Ajaj is an accomplished Assistant Professor at Abu Dhabi University. She specializes in teaching advanced courses in Environmental Health and Safety. Dr. Ajaj obtained her Ph.D. degree in Environmental Radioactivity and gained further expertise as a Postdoctoral Associate Researcher at Carleton University in Canada. Her work there included significant contributions to the DEAP3600 experiment, developing innovative technologies to monitor the purity of Low-Radioactivity Underground Argon, and analyzing dark matter datasets. Dr. Ajaj's research encompasses the comprehensive study of radionuclides through gamma-ray spectrometry, a skill crucial for assessing environmental and safety challenges. She has authored over 21 high-impact publications, leveraging her data analysis and computational methodologies expertise to enhance her understanding of radiation safety, hazardous materials management, and environmental sustainability. An active leader in the academic and professional community, Dr. Ajaj leads the Climate Change and Public Health research cluster under the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment.
